have any of the Drs run blood tests ??

herpes viruses like EBV or CMV ?

I would almost say Hand/foot and mouth as my son

had almost the same symptoms just 2 wks ago (only his fever last one day

and then the spots appeared on his hands/feet then a rash

over his entire body. The rash was dry looking like ezema

with no heads). He was fine after a week.

His Ped said spots/rash on hands and feet indicated

a virus was at work. HFM is a coxsackie virus and usually

appears in the fall

doris

land

to put him on atarax and pedipred-how can I find out gfcf on these? I dont hink

I am going to give the steroid-he still has a fever off and on and steroids dont

make sense during infection{especially if doctor number two is right-then I

would just be supressing his immune system] I hate going to doctors and now have

been to three-plus trying natural methods at home. Let me run down what has

happened in case anyone has had this happen and can shed some light.8 days ago

cold symptoms for two days, low grade fever. 6 days ago hot red itchy palms

started, next morning rash to groin area, and little spots all over various

areas.Rash looks like little pimples and only areas that itch were hands.5 days

ago it also made his feet itch and they became hot and red. The itch is mostly

at night.Fever came back for one day and we had some vomiting and loose BM. No

one is sleeping-I have not been able to work-and he has missed his therapy. Now

I must worry about gfcf and meds and the pharmacy cant give me that information

because he does not know. Which is why I turned here again for help and guess I

rambeled on a bit-but it has been a very long 8 days-sorry.f

You might have to copy/paste these into browser instead of just

clicking.

Atarax appears to have lactose.

Not finding Pedipred.

This rash sounds so much like DH/celiac that I would recommend you 1.

ask for a celiac test and 2. look at other

medications/foods/environmental factors. But even if it is not, I

would recommend you ask for the medications used to kill the DH itch

in DH/celiac people. Look thru this link for more information.

,

A few summers ago my son got Hand ,Foot and Mouth Disease at summer camp,

itchy rash on hands and feet and sores in mouth. I think he also ran a fever

but no vomiting or diarrea. I think the Dr put him on antibiotics but I don't

remember for sure .This is supposed to be very contagious but no one else in

our house came down with it . It seemed to clear up in about 3 days with

antibiotics. Hope this helps.
