Jan, thanks for sharing. When I went back to my exercise class today, I tried to motivate myself to "get with it" and exert myself. If Max wakes me up (again) early in the morning, I am going to get up and go to my class again because they are only open in the mornings on Tuesdays. On MWF mornings, the class is very crowded so I go on MWTH afternoons. Lots of choices but not quite enough to chose from.

Toodles!

>> I don't post very often--was active about 4 yrs ago and now a lurker but thought I'd tell you about the man that spoke at the American Lung Assoc Rally I attended today. His name is Mike McBride from Colorado. He was dx with COPD early 2005. While still in the hospital after dx he started walking the halls for something to do(Yes he was on O2). He started out slowly and by May of that year he "ran" his first race. He ran many races, also did many stair climbs. He also climbed Mt (14,000 ft) in CO and admitted that that was not the smartest thing he had ever done and that he should not have done that. Most recently 2009 he ran the Boston Marathon --his time was 7:31:36. He had a cart that held his O2 that was attached to his waist --so he had an extra 100 lbs that he pulled. His O2 levels were 8-11 LPM. He does have the TTO for O2. He was quite an inspiration.> No this does not mean I will be doing any marathons soon but my 10-20 mile bike rides, inline skating and walking will come a little easier when I think of Mike McBride!!> Jan Titus IPF 2003> listed for Tx 10/2003--currently inactive--YEAH!!!>

Jan, I don't post often either, but your story inspired me. I am trying to get back on the treadmill, walked 1.25 miles yesterday in 38 minutes. Thanks I needed this boost. Maybe I can do this!

Jan,

Thanks for the report about the seminar. Amazing huh?! It's good to hear stories like that and it motivates me to work hard at the gym.

I can't even imagine climbing a 14,000 foot mountain and I agree he probably shouldn't have done that but it's inspirational nonetheless.

It always amazes me what people can accomplish when they decide to do it!
