Guest guest
Hi all, I don't post here very often but always find your advice useful. We're in a bit of pickle. We lost our Kaiser insurance coverage in Dec. and after fighting to try and get back in, have given up due to outrageous rate quotes ($3000 monthly). It's vital that we get covered so we are going with an Anthem BCBS policy. My daughter, Amber, is on GHT and doing quite well. We have GH to hold us over for a few months but I have to find a new pediatrician, ENT and endocrinologist, ASAP. Is there any way to find a list of pediatricians that are familiar with SGA/possible RSS children? I hate to pick a Dr. at random and it's hard to ask friends for recommendations since Amber's situation is a special one. We are blessed that Amber is very healthy and is responding very well to GHT. She also had her tonsils out in Sept. and that has increased her appetite tremendously. So we do not have some of the problems other RSS kids have like feeding tubes, or reflux. If anyone has any advice on how to conduct my search for a new pediatrician and endocrinologist, I'd be very grateful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------- Jeffries @... Guest guest
Hi , Where do you live? Can you ask your old doctor. Let him know you have to change because of health insurance reason and ask if would recommend some one. Also, if you like a certain medical facility, call them and ak if there is some one on their staff that is knowledgeable with ESS or whatever. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Ken, Duh, I guess I should say where I live. (feeling dumb) I live in Herndon, Va. which is outside Washington DC. The problem with asking my old doctor is that she is an employee of Kaiser which has their own facilities. I'm not sure how familiar she'll be with Drs who work in private practice but I will ask. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------- Jeffries @... Guest guest
Hi , Are you sure you won't be able to stay with her under your new insurance? Even if she in a facility run by Kaiser, they may take your new insurance? In the DC area, I'd start with Hopkins up in Baltimore. Hope this helps Ken M > Hi Ken, > > Duh, I guess I should say where I live.
