-What a great list of food ideas! I have a question-you listed

marshmallow cookie treats with Malt O Meal rice krispies-these are

ok? The only rice krispie type cereal I've found has been sweetened

and made horrible cookies. thanks!!

Kathy,

The MaltoMeal Rice Bagged cereals that are gfcf are the chocolate

rice and rainbow(yuck!)colored rice cereals. I made the rainbow rice

crispie treats and they were too sweet! I will try the chocolate with

some soy nut butter next time. Janelle

There is " puffed rice " cereal at my local health food store that is

basically rice only, if you would like to try that. I don't know how

well it makes cookies or whatever, because I have never made those.

-Janelle,thanks....its so annoying, you know? You'd think there would

be a " normal " gfcf rice cereal since its just rice! Too sweet was the

problem with the sweetened rice cereal I used. Let me know what you

think of the chocolate but I don't think my daughter would like it as

well as regular krispie treats :(

My Kelsey LOVES the rainbow Malt-O-MEAL cereal. I also made rice crispie

treats with them & thought they were too sweet. When I open a bog of the

choc or rainbow I mix a " safe " puffed rice cereal with it. I have done it

since the very first time my girls ate either cereal so they don't know any

different. This way they are not getting as much sugar. Also, when I make

rice crystie treats the recipe calls for 6 cups of cereal. I usually put 2

cups of puffed rice and 4 cups of the choc cereal. Sometimes I also add a

few table spoons of peanut butter to the melted marshmellows. I think next

time I am going to use 3 cups of puffed rice & 3 of the choc b/c it is still

pretty sweet.
