I agree with your post but am in the dark about what you ended with. What

is: " scoped " ? Is that a medical procedure?

Dear ,

Dr. R. request that you wait 2 years before conceiving after this procedure.

While some post-ops have become pregnant much sooner, it is safer for mom

and babe from a nutritional standpoint to wait.

Tarri,

Thank-you so much for the information. I just sent off the info to the

insurance office so I'm on the starting end of this whole process. What

about you? Have you already had surgery? If so, how are you doing?

, I am 30 years old and I am going to have surgery Dec. 21st. I

too want to have children and from what I have been told by my regular

physician is that it should be no problem. Just think of the risks

getting pregnant at 285 lbs was what the doc told me. We just need to

be very careful with supplements and make sure that we aren't depriving

ourselves or the baby of nutrients. I know of some people who have had

the open surgery and have done real well with pregnancy. I believe you

can get pregnant 1 year after surgery. I am to believe that they prefer

2 years so you can adjust and have a chance to enjoy being thin for

awhile. Any ways, good luck to you and start getting depo shots about

4-6 weeks before your surgery. You can email me personally if you want

to chat or express fears.

Dear ,

I had the procedure on September 29 and could not be more pleased.

Yesterday on the scale I have already lost 38 pounds. No dumping, no

reflux, no hair loss. Have only thrown up once and that was only after 2 -

3 bites so I don't know what the deal was there. Best of luck on getting

everything together. Let me know if I can help.

  • 1 year later...

I had this same thing happen after giving my son " Seattle Brown

Loaf " . I haven't bought another loaf yet and I haven't seen it

since. I'm anxious to hear what is meant by coffee grounds because

that's how my son's looked. Kim

I know several people who described this and discovered their answer

was a bowel impaction, which your description reminded me because you

said the specks " stuck " to his bottom. Does your child appear

constipated or conversely very runny? If so, might be an impaction

with runny bm leaking around the impaction. Some of the impaction,

which would be dark/black and sticky, comes off into the diarrhea and

comes out along with it. If you think this might be the cause, you

should stop feeding that bread and try a glycerin suppository with

your child to help move the impaction. If you suspect he is still

impacted after another day or so, take him to have a bowel x-ray, this

sort of impaction can be dangerous, if this is what he has.

My son gets this every time he eats black beans. I am currently

having him tested for an allergy to them. The allergist just

believes he is not able to digest them well so they come through

partially digested. She said it doesn't hurt him (just doesn't get

as much nutritional value out of them).
