Guest guest
- Peptamin jr. is like a pediasure -but with less sugar - so it is a way to get more calories in these kids without the bad sugars. Now, with that being said - it does taste rather nasty (I tried it once - figured if I was giving it to my child I should try too!). There are flavor packets you can get - but did not like it with this. So, we are now mixing it with whole milk. I had our pediatrician write a script and got WIC to pay for it. Our dietician also rec. it - she says it adds an additional 180 cal/day with how much takes in a 24 hour period. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Thank you so much for the info. I suppose in the mean time I could get some Pediasure for when she arrives? Guest guest
Hey , I wouldn't recommend the Pediasure. If she's not into the sugar, why start??? And according to Dr H, the sugars in the Pediasure blunt the appetite, and the way it's made makes it harder for our kids to digest, making them feel full longer. Hope this helps!
