If they did the BPD would have never evolved to the BPD/DS Or maybe I am just misunderstanding what everyone else is saying.... Although Ren has her reservations about the DS, when people have told her that was the only procedure they wanted, she has done it, and well. (And please don't bring up Deb; until ALL facts have been made public, let's not hang Ren until she's been PROVED guilty. Even the great Gagner has lost patients and hasn't been bashed the way that Ren has). I can only speak from my experience and those of her patients I've spoken with. Marcia >> Lisbeth - you got it right! Marty and others - please realize that not everyone in the United States has access to the internet. Some people just show up at the surgeon's office for wls and they don't know enough about the different procedures, nor have they done research and become educated. That is no reason for them to be shorted from a surgery that is better because the surgeon has decided to do something else. The way I am seeing this is, you and others who defend Ren and think it is up to the patient to know what they want, and if they don't, thats ok for the surgeon to mis-inform them. Because by saying the BPD is better than the BPD/DS, in my opinion, that is exactly what Ren and are doing. We should all thank the universe that we KNOW about this stuff and not knock others who haven't been as lucky as we have been. By the way, Dr. Hess and Dr. Oakley both stated unequivocally that the BPD/DS is the best surgery. They explain all surgeries available and then state " and this is what WE do here in Bowling Green, because we feel it is the best " and they explain why they feel it is the best and why the BPD/DS is better than the BPD. They only do ONE surgery there, unless of course, some complication might cause them to change it (and I am just guessing on that one, no one said that to me).
