Guest guest
I began suffering from severe and debilitating joint pain about 6 months after I began eating a small amount of dripped yogurt (1/4 to 1/3 cup) nearly every day. I loved the yogurt, and it really helped my gut ecology improve. Since I wasn’t getting my usual immune response of hives and respiratory distress after a meal that included yogurt I assumed my joint pain was being triggered by something else. I went into research mode, and discovered a mention of joint pain as a common response to casein sensitivity. Thought I’d better test yogurt to make sure it wasn’t the culprit. It was; a week after I stopped eating yogurt I could begin to move more easily, and over the next few weeks the joint pain disappeared. I waited a few months, then tried a bit of dripped yogurt again. Severe joint pain within 24 hours… So I stopped eating yogurt and never resumed eating cheese (I’d stopped it because of candida levels). In hindsight, I should have realized that my body wouldn’t tolerate yogurt. I’d been lactose intolerant for many years before my digestive disorders developed, and had also become very sensitive to vitamin A in multivitamins. I was so thrilled that my digestion didn’t seem to immediately react to our 24-hour yogurt, and it tasted so wonderful. Oh well. Now I include severe joint pain as one of my immune responses. So, I do without dairy. I don’t miss it, and I certainly don’t miss the severe joint pain [grin]. I hope I never have to deal with rheumatoid arthritis. Kim M. Guest guest
Hmm, this is interesting. Since I'm eating butter and cheese now I'll have to pay attention to pain levels (have fibro and arthritis, too). But I have to say, during this whole 28 years since my gut went crazy pain (joint and general) has always been a result when I eat something I shouldn't. Not all foods do this, but many. Now I include severe joint pain as one of my immune responses. So, I do without dairy. I don't miss it, and I certainly don't miss the severe joint pain [grin].
