Guest guest
" . These diets are in the category of " one size fits all " clothing-- they really don't mean " includes the Massively Obese " . Nan- I loved your whole post in which the above sentance was included. I can relate to your thinking about diets. I have come to the same conclusion. Diets are for those who need to lose 10 - 15 lbs. They work for the short term. Only real problem is, those who have only 10 - 15 lbs to lose will lose them and gain them back plus 5, or 10-----and if they start this " diet thing " early enough in life, they will end up MO one day. I honestly believe if none of us had dieted, we would be the weight we were when we started dieting, which we probably thought was " fat " but probably would make us ecstatic to be there again - and may be the weight we will reach after the DS as our goal weight! My goal weight after DS will be pretty close to the weight I started earnestly dieting at, as a teen. So - I also feel that anyone who is MO has gotten there by dieting. So, again this shows that we are not lazy, undisciplined, etc. etc., but the exact opposite. We have been so deligent in trying to beat this disease (all the while blaming ourselves and losing more and more of our self-confidence) that it shows just how hard we have tried that we dieted up to being MO. Anyone else see it this way? Nan - you are my kind of lady! You have such a great personality! By the way, I got the tape from Dr. Weil and started listening to it today and so far really like it.
