Guest guest
Joyce Your internist is limited in her knowledge and naturally scared too. She was looking for you to be well when that just wasn't realistic. But the fact you're stable, not progressing currently, and know the cause is very very good news. Reversal isn't realistic but of the realistic possibilities you got the best one you could. As to one oxygen reading, you follow it and know how you're doing. Don't overreact to one reading at the doctor. The fact is you're feeling pretty decent, you're upbeat, you're enjoying life, watching your health and diet, you get some ridiculous gas mileage on trips over the mountains. Sounds to me like you're doing well. > > I saw my Internist today and she asked me what Jewish said and I told her that they said I am stable. I have stopped scarring but I show the potential to start again. > She became very serious and she said:That is not good. " I said " Why not? " seriously she said to me: " It means you are not well. Have you rehomed all your birds? Gotten everything bird out of the house? " I tod her that I had and she said " good " but she looked very concerned. I thought it was a good thing that I have stopped scaring! Also, I was sitting in the office and when the nurse took my oxygen while at rest it was 93 on 3 lpm and that is low for me. Usually I am up at 96-97 on 3 lpm at rest. Anyway, should I be concerned? I am feeling good and I am happy and having fun...and,yes, I do get good milage going over those mountains! So Jewish was pleased and that is it. They understand the illness and my doctor who is so very nice just doesn't understand and she is a bit scared. She scared me too. Guest guest
Joyce It's funny....I joke around with my pulmonologist, my pulmonary hypertension doctor, my nephrologist, my neurologist and others who all talk about how well I look and am feeling. Meanwhile, I keep needing to tell my rheumatologist I'm ok and not to worry as the whole thing just horrifies him. > > > > I saw my Internist today and she asked me what Jewish said and I told > her that they said I am stable. Guest guest
Hi Joyce and Bruce! As usual Bruce has nailed it head on. You know best how you feel and being positive is a LOT of how you are. My ER doc about 10 days ago said he looked at my history and it scared him to death! Scared him? Yeah, OK. We have to remember these doctor people actually are responsible for trying to do the best medically for us with " well " being the objective. And we can't do that. And Bruce was also right last week when he mentioned half of the doctors out there were in the bottom half of their class. So which half do we get and how many of that half are truly familiar with every possible combination of stuff that could go wrong with our bodies? Every once in a while even Dr House throws out Pulmonary Fibrosis as a diagnosis. LOL I am blathering on but trying to say that our bodies are a wonderful mystery even to our doctors. Congratulations on the weight loss and your well-being of spirit. Attagirl. Guest guest
Ahahahhahahaah I asked my internist where she fell in her class and she said she was the top 10% and I believe it! She is the smartest doctor. She is caring and compassionate. She is the head doc in hospice too. But she has had only one patient in all her career with pulmonary fibrosis and she only lived 6 years...but she had IPF and I have birds. But, both you and Bruce are right. Right now I feel wonderful! Having as much fun as I can and just plan rejoicing in the fact that the scarring is no more. I guess she scared me when she reacted that way.
