Guest guest
My husband and I took our son to get his helmet today at Hanger in Kansas City. It really hasn't affected him that much when we have it on him which is good. My concern is that the helmet seems to twist quite a bit but the Dr. said that may happen because of the shape of his head. We go back to the Dr. on Friday so he can check it to make sure it isn't causing any red spots or anything. I just don't want to use the helmet if it is twisting and make the shape of his head worse. Has anyone else had any problems with this?
Guest guest
My son's helmet twists a little to the left also. He has been in it for 3 weeks. We just saw the ortho today and he is making great progress. He said he was " amazed " at how much progress he had in his helmet. So the twist in my sons helmet has not affected his growth. He is also in a Hanger helmet. It didn't cause any red spots. He has redness when we take the helmet off, but that's just from the pressure. It goes away. Good luck > > My husband and I took our son to get his helmet today at Hanger in Kansas City. It really hasn't affected him that much when we have it on him which is good. Guest guest
I've heard about 1/2 " shifting is okay, not more. I think it is fine if you'll get it checked again on friday. -christine sydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad > > My husband and I took our son to get his helmet today at Hanger in Kansas City. Guest guest
hi amanda, welcome to the group! we just got our helmet a week ago from hanger at KU Med here in KC too! we haven't had issues with the helmet twisting but we do have red spots that disappear during the break times. we did have a problem with the helmet squashing his right eye, we went back in and had a small adjustment which seems to help a little. wish i could give you some advice with your issue but i am sure someone else in the group can help. take care and good luck! becca > > My husband and I took our son to get his helmet today at Hanger in Kansas City. Guest guest
There's always a little bit of twisting so it really depends upon how much. Can you post pictures so that we can see?
