Guest guest
These are my son's favorite GFCF things, in no particular order: Breakfast food: Van's Waffles (ESPECIALLY with GFCF peanut butter- we use Jif), Nature's Path EnviroKidz Gorilla Munch/Peanut Butter Panda Puffs/ and Amazon Frosted Flakes cereals. I find the waffles and cereals at one regular grocery store (Fred Meyer - specific to the Pacific Northwest, I think) as well as several HFS. Snacks: Tostitos 100% White Corn Bite Size Tortilla Chips (any grocery store), Glutano/Ener-G Pretzels (HFS, or mail order - I know you can get them through both Kinnikinnick and Miss Robens), 's American Gourmet Fruity Booty (Trader Joe's, Bed, Bath & Beyond <--- strange, but true), and Glutano Shortcake Rings cookies (unfortunately the 1 HFS that carried them here now carries all the other Glutano cookies, but not those anymore. Bummer.) Protein Sources: Peanut Butter (as above), ville Breakfast links - both Original and Maple (confirmed GFCF with the company in July of this year. Very nice folks there and they sent a bunch of coupons and a fridge magnet after I contacted them. Find them in regular grocery stores), my homemade GFCF chicken nuggets (coated with egg, then a mix of brown rice " bread crumbs " by Hol-Grain and Lawry's Seasoned Salt then deep fried in safflower oil), Trader Joe's Chicken Taquitos - A HUGE thank you to those who mentioned these recently, since Josh doesn't tolerate the Delimex ones - THANK YOU!!! And Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon, only at 1 HFS in my area and you can mail order from their website. Milk Sub (and the ONLY thing my son will drink, period....) : Pacific Rice Low Fat Vanilla Rice Milk. Also has worked well in some baked goods and frosting I've made recently (I can get it at several regular grocery stores in my area, the Fred Meyer I mentioned above carries it in cases as well, at a 10% discount). Used to drink the cocoa version but I found he does better off chocolate. Bread: Either Kinnikinnick Alta Line breads, or Ener-G's High Fiber Loaf (mail order from Kinnikinnick's website , Ener-g I find at HFS or regular grocery store). Other stuff: Cascadian Farms Spud Puppies (organic " tater tots " - find them at HFS , thought I remember seeing them at Trader Joe's as well but I could be wrong), Spectrum Spread as a butter/margarine sub though it is not for frying (found at one regular grocery store as well as HFS), either corn or safflower oil for frying - my son doesn't tolerate canola, " Crispy Chicken Coating Mix " from Kinnikinnick, Tinkyada Pastas (found at HFS, also mail order through Miss Robens). And last but not least - Fast Food Treat (not looking for heat on this one, please) : Mc's French Fries (Josh is fine with the ones from the McD's that is closest to where we live). Favorite place to eat out with the kids: Outack Steakhouse, since the one near us uses a dedicated fryer AND oil for their fries (which are not coated with anything) , and they were SO very nice and patient and thorough when checking into that for us. >> __________________________________________________ >>
