Is there a test to know if we have high yeast / candida levels?

Thanks,

long it took to resolve after going on the SCD.  This has been an ongoing,

unrelenting problem for our daughter, and we have seen progress--BUT IT IS

SOOOOOO SLOW.  We have been on the diet since January 4, 2010 (after starting in

the fall with mistakes and stopping at Thanksgiving when another family member

got severely ill), and are wondering how long this part of the illness might

resolve.  And maybe other aspects of her illness need to completely repair

first--she has severe crohn's which has not responded to medication.  We have

been GFCF for about six years and things aren't as dire as in the past, but if

we could just get energy back we would beat the most debilitating aspect of her

illness.

There is this one you can do at home (linked from the pecanbread website): http://www.adhdrelief.com/CandidaTest.htmlI don't know enough about the professional/medical ones you can do to comment on that, but this website talks about them: http://www.candida-albicans-cure.com/candida-test.html#MedicalTest

Can't really verify if that's reliable information though. Sorry.~CD, SCD 02/21/2010

Unfortunately, fatigue is the one thing SCD hasn't helped. LDN didn't help

either. It may just be something I'll have to deal with for life. SCD is

certainly still worth it though. Just the fact that it healed my fistulas is

enough to keep me on it :-).

Holly,

I deal with this too.

I have adrenal burn-out (my doc said adrenals finally caught up and just burnt

out from surgery)

But have you checked sleep apnea?

I am still trying to work through this darn CPAP machine. I don't know if it's

for me.

Have you had saliva tests done?

What about DHEA levels?

I am going to start some herbs with my acupuncturist to deal with my adrenal

issues.

<frowning> You know where to go for assistance with your

CPAP.

CPAPTALK.COM. If I'd been left to the mercy of my DME, I'd've quit, two

weeks into it.

stay on your doc - don't ever just go by tsh - ask for t3, t4 ,free t3 and 4 and

sometimes some docs do reverse t3 and t4 and a not totally positive lyme - some

positive bands isn't a total neg either so just check all avenues thoroughly

Holly,

If it's not well received, then you and your Mom have to take care of

yourselves -- mnake sure he has plenty of insurance, a paid in full

funeral plan, and that his will is made out.

Sorry if this sounds harsh -- I know you're having your own issues -- but

sleep apnea CAN be dealt with. Easier than doing SCD, actually.
