Hi Tami,

Dr. Macura was my surgeon. I think he's the greatest, in fact my DH will be

getting his DS hopefully in Dec. and he's very critical of doctors.

When I first went to Dr. M, I didn't even know what a DS was. It was the

nutritionist who first suggested the DS. My BMI was 63. She explained the

differences then left me with the doctors booklet to read. When I saw the

doctor he to advised the DS. It sounded like the right thing. After

getting in all my preop tests, I finally got the last visit one week before

the operation. The first thing Dr. M asked when he came in was if I had

decided which operation I wanted. There was never any pressure. I believe

he leaves the decision entirely up to the patient. I believe this because

on the same day I had my operation there was a man who had a similar BMI and

he chose a RNY and that's what he got.
