This is what I got from the OSSG hungry group. Some of them are tying

chromium picolonate. I, too, was having some really out rageous sugar

cravings. So, I got some chromium picolonate Sunday and tried it. Only took

1 tablet (200 mcg) and did notice an immediate lessening of the cravings.

Course, I also noticed that I don't have the appetite for other things

either, but at least the sugar cravings are lessening.

It's worth a try. I don't think it cam harm us, but not being a medical

person, I don't know. Does anyone have good knowledge of this supplement?

Another thing that works well (esp. if you crave chocolate candy) is

to supplement magnesium.. I tried it preop to see if it would lessen

my raging chocolate addiction, & it worked! I ate very little

chocolate when I supplemented w/magnesium. I was taking 400 mg a day

in 3 divided doses. Worth a try, right?

Also, just FYI.. if you already have loose BMs, the magnesium can

worsen that if you take too much.

Dear Liane,

Very interesting, a little over 2 weeks ago I started taking a new

Calcium Supplement that delivers 480 mg. of Magnesium along with

phosphorus, vitamin D and vitamin C along with the Calcium. Over the

past week, I have felt that my chocolate cravings have lessened a bit

and never knew that Magnesium is what may be helping. Thanks for

your wealth of knowledge.
