Guest guest
I gave up real fast finding a toothpaste without sweeteners years ago, and no matter how hard I tried not to swallow any of it I couldn't completely not swallow any, and it hurt my stomach. I haven't used toothpaste in years. I haven't had a cavity in years either I also never eat sweeteners. I only ever use honey as necessary medicinally, like when I have a bad cold. If you really feel the need for a toothpaste though, I would think making your own is a great idea. Baking soda is a good start. I expect you also might be able to research/google the concept and find some useful information. Maybe you could also ask the dentist for advice on making your own. I would not worry about it, especially since it's baby teeth, not permanent teeth and on SCD you shouldn't encounter much food that requires toothpaste! :)Best! How about plain baking soda? You could put in a drop or two of mint if you want, but I think that's just societal to expect that toothpaste taste like that Good luck figuring what works for your child, Ellen 12 yo dd scd for 4 years for Crohn's med-free for 1.5 years > > Hi I have a toddler on the autistic spectrum who needs a flouride free toothpaste that is scd legal as well as gluten, casein, & soy free.
