Max were on their way to NYC to see Dr. H. early this morning. They

were on the NJ Turnpike when a car cut them off. tried to

avoid hitting him, lost control of the car and went head first into

the concrete median. The airbags went off and, thank God, both of

them were wearing seatbelts.

Max had to be taken to the hospital via ambulance. I was called at

school and the principal made me leave to go be with them. Max has

horrible bruises where the seatbelt was and he is developing two

black eyes from the airbag pushing his glasses into his nose, but he

is ALIVE! has internal bruises, but the doctor said that in

a day or two he, too, will have visible bruises.

Both of my men are now taking pain meds and are sleeping on their

respective couches in the house. Max is really shaken up as he

thought he was going to die today. He cries, but it hurts his

stomach and back so much (yes, the back was hurt, too) that he

cannot cry too much or he hurts too much.

I am so thankful that we have a rule in our family that everyone has

to wear a seatbelt or the car does not move. I know that sometimes

does not follow this rule when I am not in the car and it

makes me mad. Hopefully he will have learned a lesson today. That

seatbelt is the reason he is in this house right now.

The bright side to this....I get a new car!

Jodi,

Oh, my goodness, so sorry to hear about the accident. We were at Dr. H.'s

that day and thought we would see Max. My husband and I thought that he was

in and out pretty fast. Well, wish them our best and some good rest.

Jodi,

I'm so sorry to hear Max and were in a car accident.

Thankfully, they are home and not in a hospital. What a rough time

for you all. I hope your guy's recover quickly.

Hi Jodi,

I am so glad that Max and are doing OK. It makes us all think how

important seat belts are and how precious life really is. I let my husband know

about this accident so he can be more careful.
