Hi,

My son started daycare at 4 months (he is now 5) and Emerence started

at the same daycare when she was 3 months old and just 8 lbs. The

staff was great and very attentive to any concerns I had. They also

have very low turnover and we have been there since was 4

months old so the same people who took care of my son take care of my

daughter.

Where my kids go I send their food so there is no worry about what

is being served. On Mondays they stay late (until 5:30 - my husband

usually picks them up at 3:45) and my daughters room (the 16 mo - 26

mo room) has snack at 9, lunch at 11:30, snack at 3. I asked and

they served her an extra snack at 4;30 on those days she had a late

pickup. She also can ask if she wants more to drink etc.

My daughter's OT also comes in and does feeding therapy 2x a month

during her lunch at daycare.

However, every daycare is different. Just tell them what you want

and they should want to do it for you.

Good luck!

Hi le,

When first went into a daycare situation she was 3 she went for a half a

day and I allowed her to stay and have " lunch " with the kids. Not knowing she

was RSS I packed a couple of snacks in her lunch bag and when I picked her up

and dropped her to my mom's she would actually eat lunch there. likes to

eat soup for lunch so I didn't send in soup because I didn't want to send in a

bib and all that. I would definitely make them aware of the situation and maybe

make up snacks for different times of the day and this way you can know whether

or not they are giving Coby his snakcs.

Here are my questions for those of you that have had 2 yr olds in

day care centers:

1) Did they allow your child to have a cup with them all day? Coby

still gets most of his cals from his milk.

2) How often did they offer smacks and did they eat them in the

room with the other kids?

3) Did your child eat their lunches? Did they have substitute

meals for things your child didn't like?

Any other helpful hints would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks,
