Hi ,

I don't know if there is one thing that triggers IBD. I think it must be that

there is a genetic predisposition and then an environmental trigger, stress,

diet, antibiotics, who knows. Celiac is the same- genetic plus diet... and it

can occur at any age.

The main reason to do a colonoscopy is to find out what it is, and what it is

not, as there are many causes of GI symptoms. Colonoscopy's can rule out colon

cancer and also remove polyps at the time during the procedure.

As for me, I was also a very healthy eater. I do not know what triggered my GI

symptoms all of a sudden at mid life. I know that SCD has helped me a lot.
