Guest guest
Hi Janelle, My son is very picky & won't touch the Applegate ones. The only ones he will eat are the Shelton's Chicken franks. I think I tried the turkey ones some time ago & he wanted no part of them; haven't tried the beef. But we all like the chicken ones; those are good (to us anyway). I don't know which ones you have but if they'll let you do an exchange maybe you could try the chicken ones & see if they go over better? Hope this helps somewhat. I've just received a bunch of new foods I'm trying on & my other son will eat more of the gfcf foods than he will. It is very frustrating! Guest guest
How about using them in recipes (cut up in beans etc.). Another idea I read about but have not yet tried is rolling them in GFCF pancake mix and frying to make corndogs. > Ok, my husband will have a fit if I don't find a way to get these > hotdogs down the kids' throats. I bought 6 or 8 packs(can't recall, > dont' want to recall!!) bc the Whole Foods Market is about 45 min > from my house and I hate running errands, so bought a ton at once. > Yikes. Guest guest
My son wolfs both of these brands down, and without any condiments at all. But I do think this is because it's been a year or more since eating any other type of hot dog. But we had a very similar problem a year ago when trying to substitute rice milk for cow's milk. It took about six months before he willingly would drink rice milk or DariFree. I would just try periodically every few weeks, and eventually the rice milk and DariFree began to taste pretty darn good to him. Hope your kids adjust faster than mine did!
