Guest guest
You should look into homeopathic. It also a lot easier cheaper and is easier on the system if you child is sensitive. Becky.

Apparently the oil is absorbed very effectively through the skin. The skin is rather porous and does absorb easily (that is why gluten/casein containing lotions, shampoos, cleaning supplies also have to be avoided). Kirkmans said they are looking into making more supplements as transdermal creams. At the conference, some people were saying this might even be preferable for some kids because their guts were in such bad shape that a lot of the supplements were probably not absorbing as much as previously hoped. . Guest guest
ok, I am really nervous now...I ordered the cod liver oil gel caps. I was thinking I could pull them apart to hide in food, but now I don't think so, knowing what a gel cap is. DUH. My order arrives today. Anyway, I think I will return it and get the liquid non flavored if it works through the skin! Does it smell yucky? I have never used CLO. Guest guest
, From one poor mommy to another... We have had to watch our money so closely that I even suggested we could stop some of the supps for awhile. My husband and I both tossed that one out the window immediately bc besides the diet, the NuThera has been the most beneficial intervention for our child esp with regard to her lang. I don't know about homeopathic. Sounds good if you can look into it. I am still at the overwhelmed point myself and thought I would go the " easy " way and order from a company that I wouldn't have to worry about. Knock on wood. One thing, if you do order from Kirkman's - order a trial size in case your child reacts. We threw a large bottle of the flavored liquid when we discovered Jane was allergice to the flavorings. UGH! I didn't know you could order trial sizes and we had used about a 1/4 of the bottle and I thought they probably wouldn't take it back. The NuThera hypoallergenic capsules have been wonderful! Ok, hope something helps. Good luck. I know it's expensive! Christmas will be very small this year! But it is soooo worth it, right?! (-: Janelle > One other thing the Dr. recommended Nu-Thera and I had every > intention of buying them untill I saw the price + the suppliment. Anyway, I asked her if she knew about the transdermal thing. She didn't and hadn't heard they were going to be producing more trans. products. However, I have never talked with her before and she may have been a sub. I am going to puncture the gelcap and rub it on her back. That and brushing-she'll love it! What do you think? Where is the chemist out there? Would this be absorbed? How could I tell? I suppose I couldn't. Janelle

The capsules themselves didn't have a taste, but I couldn't get my 5 yr. old to swallow them. I tried them a few times and upseat my stomache also. My order arrives today. > Anyway, I think I will return it and get the liquid non flavored if > it works through the skin! Does it smell yucky? I used them all but I had to puncture 15 daily to get the right dosage the Dr. recommended. MESSY! I bought the Flax oil at HFS so if I just rub it on the skin do I use the Dr's recommended dosage and rub that amount on the skin. That will be alot of rubbing! Guest guest
Try Omega Nutrition's Essential Balance Jr. It has both (plus some more) oils listed below, is GFCF, and my son loves the taste (I tried it too--it is pretty decent); it tastes like butterscotch. It is around $7.50/8 oz., which is a bit high but worth not having to hassle to have him take it. Subject: oils/vitamins By just rubbing it on the back I don't understand how that would be very effective. I'm so new at this and have SO much to learn. I will try the 7up though. I really doubt if this will hide the horrible taste but I can try! The HFS recommended flax and borage oil combination and doesn't seem to taste quite so bad...but I would never drink it! Poor guy!!
