We want to try this for Kaitlyn for making pancakes, cakes, muffins, etc. Where is the best place to buy it?? Some people have used hazelnut instead of almond. Pecan flour is also quite tasty. I've never gotten the hazelnut, so couldn't tell you a good place to get it. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
I have used hazelnut flour for about 5 years, off and on. It is more pricey than some of the other flours. I also use coconut flour, which I get from Tropical Traditions when it is on sale. I can get some hazelnut flour at our farmers markets in summer. It is from Holmquisthazelnuts.com sources other than that: bobsredmill.com kingarthurflour.com nutsonline.com Darlene

Is it as fine as commercially produced nut flour?Amelia

Picky aren't I??!! Everyone has their particulars. I happened to be fond of whole grain bread pre-SCD, so the fact that pecan flour makes a bread that looks like that is a plus, not a minus for me. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Pecan butter is >such a nice dark brown that somehow the color >half convinces me it tastes like chocolate! Butter pecan satin is so rich you won't miss chocolate! Marilyn And I'm going to try that butter pecan satin, too! Maybe this weekend. Actually, awhile before SCD and I met up, I tried some organic unsweetened, totally unadulturated chocolate. BOY did I get a rash! So butter pecan satin it will be for treats!
