Still have obstructions on SCD

I've been on SCD for about 8 months after an ER doc recommended it to me when I

was admitted for an obstruction. It took me a while to eliminate the illegal

foods from my diet (mostly those hidden sugar substitutes and such that seem to

be in everything), but I would say that I was on it 100% for a good 2 months or

so. I had my bumps just like any SCD'er (fruit skins, nuts that aren't chewed

REALLY well are bad), but eventually I seemed to get to a place where I had it

figured out. After that time I decided to try some basic illegals (breads

mostly) with various levels of success. I've been doing this about 2 or 3

monhts now. None of the foods were all that bad, and I still felt good and

healthy, but slightly less good as if I were 100% legal SCD. The catch was that

when I was doing this 90% SCD version, I was gaining weight instead of losing it

for the first time since I was diagnosed (~6 yrs).

I'm in the hospital again now for another obstruction after eating all legals.

The most questionable thing I had was some blueberries. My doctor keeps

threatening to up my medication to Humira, but I'm worried at 25 years old and

6.5 yrs with CD that I need to find something better than the next level of

meds--there's a lot of life left to live, and there's only so many medications

left, a lot with some scary side effects/risks.

Am I doing more harm than help by doing a 90% SCD? Am I just not giving it

enough of a chance with 2mo of 100% legals and no weight gain? SCD provides

lots of food options, but not all are great for folks like me with some

strictures and scarring--how can I make smart SCD choices that are easy on the

strictures without eating the same 5 dishes every day, every meal?
