Guest guest
It really does take time because your taste buds and brain and everything else are still geared to the " old " tastes you used to love. But over time, it really does get better. I think the best thing (unless it's very short) is to be sure you bring something you can have, even if it's only a drink. That way you will probably feel more normal having something in your hands to nibble on and/or drink and you will at least feel LESS deprived. I know after only a month it's probably hard to believe you will ever get used to not eating as you did, but you will. My DH eats an entirely normal diet. He has a stainless steel gut apparently, and eats sparingly of whatever he wants. It's been almost 28 years now since my gut went berserk and my diet got terribly limited (even though I only found SCD last summer to get exactly the right food list), and yes, at first I am sure I had wide eyes looking longingly at his food but not now. I really don't pay any attention to it, no more than if he was eating dog food. And it didn't take 28 years to get to this point, either. So, hang in there. And I agree, I don't see why you should pay for pizza or something you aren't going to eat. You're just providing more junk food for the rest of them that way! But of course, I can see how it might be awkward not to sometimes.
