Guest guest
All this talk about car seats made me think of another question. How many of you live in states that have laws stating that a child should be in a booster seat until he/she is 80 lbs? I know this is a recommendation for all states, but it is not a law in my state (FL). Here is the child restraint law for FL: All children 5 years of age or younger must be properly restrained no matter where they are sitting in the vehicle. Children through age 3 must be secured in a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child safety seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child safety seat, or a safety belt may be used. (FL Statute 316.613). is almost 12, going into middle school next year, and weighs 55 lbs. At the rate he is going, he might be 20 before he is 80 lbs. - lol! It would be ridiculous for me to drive him to middle school in a booster seat! What are the laws in regards to driving through other states? We have gone on a few road trips before, but I never thought about this. has probably been out of a car/booster seat since he was 6 or 7 years old. We are going on a road trip through several states in a few weeks. Can I be stopped & asked why he is not in a booster seat? Can I get a ticket? Kim C.
