Hello to all, can someone please confirm or deny that the baby food jars of "Earth's Best organic First Carrots" and "First Pears" are SCD legal.I've never heard of them, so I'm not sure, but the way to tell if something is legal is to request a physical letter on the company's letterhead stating that it has nothing added that isn't listed on the ingredients, as well as no processing aids like cornstarch, etc...If you do get a letter from the company, we can add it to this group's files and that will deem it SCD legal. You need to get a letter on anything that is processed. There are sometimes

" manufacturing aids " that are not on the label.

Before I was on SCD, I tried baby food and it always made me feel sicker. I

would rather cook my own applesauce and pureed veggies.

so wanted to hear they were legal too -but when i started was told no - MAYBE if

they give you a letter on company letterhead - i know my homemade stuff never

tasted like gerber so i'm sure there's something in there - just like libbys

called the manufacturer & they said they manufacturer & produce all their own

products only @ there facility and they don't add anything but water and the

vegetable. I only need this so that my son (3 yr old) can take his enzymes which

are little pellets that can't be chewed or crushed & they do not dissolve so

juice is not an option. It's not like he eats whole jars of the stuff, only 1/8

of a teaspoon with meals & snacks so that he can take the enzymes. also his

special needs preschool requires unopened containers to be kept at school for

administering, not to mention how convenient it is to throw a jar in my purse to

give him on the go with snacks in the car. Gosh I really hope these are okay,

the maintenance of all the rest of the cooking is alot!!! would be nice to have

this one prepared necessity
