Guest guest
Hi Chris: I am going to be 3 years post-op this Jan. I eat a lot of food and I mean a lot. What we absorb doesn't change, the stomach becomes larger and pretty much back to a normal size stomach but we don't absorb food from our stomach just in our intestines and that bypassed part doesn't change. I still eat every 3-4 hours as my body seems to be happier that way and Dr. A has told me that smaller meals more often is better for you anyway. I can now eat 2 whole burritos, (roasted pork with nothing else in them), small steal with baked potato and 3/4 cup of veggies and on and on. There are days that my tummy isn't happy with anything and I eat lightly on those days and I do fine. I am a grazer, I eat all the time and still haven't put on an ounce, I do eat sugar everyday but it is like a couple of cookies, some candy, a slice of pie but I still crave protein over anything and I have to remember to eat carbs and veggies which I do like. So you won't spend your life eating a couple of McNuggets but honest to goodness real meals, I also like salads a lot, especially with avocados in them, I no longer eat chicken my body doesn't like chicken so I just leave it alone but I put shrimp in my salads if I want to make a full meal out of it. I also eat a whole lot of fats always have and I like the taste of food with butter, fat on my steaks and chops and roasts, well buttered toast and butter on about everything I eat. Well, actually it is oleo, I like Golden Soft. If I can answer anything else let me know as you can see by my stats I don't have any problems with my weight anylonger other than I would like to be about 10 pounds heavier with muscle. Everything else stays about the same I stay at 163-168. Huggles, Tiger Lake Female 160 lbs. BMI 21.7 224lbs gone 165 1/2 inches gone 6' -- 53yrs young Dr. Anthone@USC So. Calif.
