Guest guest
The Genova Diagnostic CDSA stool testing checks for Klebsiella. My son came back positive for it. The Genova lab tests to see what the pathogen is susceptible so the doctor can easily advise how to treat. In our case, there were 2 other pathogens as well. All were susceptible to Cipro, which is what was prescribed. It worked very well and helped a lot with the IBD symptoms. However, the GI doctor wouldn't let him stay on Cipro long term due to the fact that it's a broad based antibiotic and would wipe out good bacteria, leaving my son susceptible to C-diff, which he'd had in the past.
