I have fibromyalgia in addition to the gut issues and I can't yet manage

with no pain meds. So far I'm OK with OTC stuff. My

doctor feels Tylenol is the safest for most people but with an

inflammatory problem I've used ibuprofen. However, about a month on ibu

and my stomach starts hurting. I switched to white willow

bark. It's the herbal precursor of aspirin and and supposedly the

other things in it that aspirin (being a pure chemical) hasn't got

alleviate any stomach distress. This has proved to be the case for

me, no tummy aches at all. Now, I have IBS, so I can't speak for UC

or Crohn's or worse, but I think they are right about the whole natural

form being easier to take. Of course if you are allergic to aspirin

you wouldn't be able to take the white willow bark either.

Anyway, you've been on SCD long enough that you should have healed a

good

deal, so that using the occasional NSAID like ibuprofen or aspirin

might be

tolerated. BUT check with your doctor first, since you don't want to

cause

any more harm.
