Might be worth putting those in the bags you give to your neighbors to give to Matt! I used DariFree powder when I made them. The syrup can be any number of syrups if your child is sensitive to the ones listed. Guest guest
I did post it, but after my signature so you may have missed it. I made it in a KitchenAid using dry DariFree powder and honey, and it worked for me. It is softer than tootsie rolls, but not so soft that you can't roll it. Guest guest
Lorilyn, My first attempt at tootsie rolls several weeks ago ended up a flop. They tasted great, but were too soft to hold much of a shape. We made balls out of them that sunk the longer they sat. I guess I will add more dry something..next time. Subject: Fw: : Easy Tootsie Rolls These are softer than the variety in the store, and they taste even better! Only 10 minutes to make. 2 tablespoons GFCF margarine, softened 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 3 cups confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup instant powdered GFCF milk 1/2 cup white corn syrup OR a little less honey, agave nectar, or other liquid sweetener Mix all ingredients together. Knead like you would for bread. Roll into rope shapes and cut into desired lengths. You can roll into candy wrappers from candy supply store or wax paper cut into small square, roll and twist ends
