I used to tell the kids so it will make his head nice and round like yours which usually

provoked a smile from them. :)

Hi everybody, this might be a silly question but what do you tell kids when they ask why your baby is wearing a helmet? I was caught off guard. My boy just started wearing it and the kids are very curious about it. What's a simple yet not too far from the truth answer? So he doesn't hurt himself when he falls is good for the young ones I guess.Thanks. p.s. By the way he is doing great so far, today 2nd 23 hr day, even at his age, not complaining about it. i am completely amazed at how laid back he behaves about it. Fingers crossed. Minor heat rash yesterday but my fault, he pretty much spent the day in and out of the car and it is soo hot right now here., Tampa, Fl, 15 mo, starband 9 july 09Alessandro, 4

Since we have an almost five year old and we're always out, we get asked this question many times a day! Most kids just ask why she has that on her head and in a very upbeat voice, I say, 'well, her head is flat like a PANCAKE - so this helps make her head ROUND like a BALL, like YOURS! Isn't that silly? We like to call it a crown, like a princess!'. Obviously you would have to adjust that for a boy (maybe something about it being like a football player and then do they like to play football, etc) :o). But most kids start laughing and then they move along and it's not a big deal. I don't mind little kids being so forward about it because that's MUCH better than the adults who STARE and GAWK and WHISPER about her as if I don't notice :o).

But enough about that, ha!KimMia - 7/19/08Week 10 in DOCBand, one more week!On Wed, Jul 15, 2009 at 8:13 PM, lauralulei <cllulei@...> wrote:

I tell them that his head isn't nice and round, and the helmet is to give him a nice round head.

And to make him look like a race car driver, lol
