Debbie,YES! Definitely have your doctor do the testing -- I hope I didn't leave the impression that you shouldn't get tested. I was just passing on personal experience (which included ultrasound and biopsy). I didn't have fibroids, but I had have endometrial hyperplasia and leaned I also had adenomyosis after my hysterectomy. I had heavy/abnormal bleeding, but I don't think as much as some women can have with fibroids.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Fri, May 7, 2010 1:36:39 PMSubject: Re: OT--Abnormal bleeding

Debbie,

The ultrasound/ biopsy is a good idea to rule out anything bad,or structural like fibroids, then you can go on to hormonal issues, etc.

If this is the case, a good way to counter/balance the estrogen is to apply a progesterone cream (over the counter, just make sure it contains USP progesterone -- Pro-Gest is a good brand). Long term stress which causes the body to try to cope can cause the body to take available progesterone and convert it into stress hormones (it doesn't do this with estrogen, only progesterone because it is a 'precurser' type hormone and can be converted into several hormones). This will cause a negative feedback because with no progesterone available to tell the uterus to stop building the lining and shutdown the estrogen, your body will just continue growing the lining nearly endlessly. If you are passing lots of blood clots, that is an indication as well because as the lining continues growing, at some point the uterine wall
