Debbie,If it is female bleeding, you might have fibroids. They like to develop/grow in the ample presence of estrogen/estrogen dominance. If this is the case, a good way to counter/balance the estrogen is to apply a progesterone cream (over the counter, just make sure it contains USP progesterone -- Pro-Gest is a good brand). Long term stress which causes the body to try to cope can cause the body to take available progesterone and convert it into stress hormones (it doesn't do this with estrogen, only progesterone because it is a 'precurser' type hormone and can be converted into several hormones). This will cause a negative feedback because with no progesterone available to tell the uterus to stop building the lining and shutdown the estrogen, your body will just

continue growing the lining nearly endlessly. If you are passing lots of blood clots, that is an indication as well because as the lining continues growing, at some point the uterine wall can no longer sustain it and it just kind of sloughs off in thickened chunks. Sorry for the graphic description! ; )AmeliaTo: btvc-scd <BTVC-SCD >; scdinfo <scdinfo >Sent: Fri, May 7, 2010 2:18:11 AMSubject: OT--Abnormal bleeding

I'm going to get an ultrasound and depending on how that turns out, I'll get an inter-endometrial (sp?) biopsy. Abornal bleeding that hormones don't touch.

Anyone had experience with this and/or what to expect? Pls email me off-list if you have experience with this since it's OT SCD.

Debbie,

The ultrasound/ biopsy is a good idea to rule out anything bad,or structural

like fibroids, then you can go on to hormonal issues, etc.
