I walked 2 miles everyday in the summer....once fall started and I got back to work and school....bye bye walks. So I got off of my butt and went walking today. What a gorgeous day here in Mass. Guest guest
, I surely understand the difficulty in making time for YOU. Because, when I worked I had a hard time clearing the decks for exercise myself, and I had a wife and no young kids at home, so the demands on my time were minimal, compared to yours. But, can you start, say by reserving 15 whole minutes each and every day just for yourself: walk the mall or the parking lot at work, or whatever you can do in that 15 minutes. And, then, try to expend it into 30 minutes JUST FOR YOU. Worth a try? Good luck, and I know it ain't easy. --Steve At 10:44 AM -0800 11/11/03, P wrote: >Yes, my life's structure has changed dramatically. Guest guest
I just wanted to reply to the exercise issue. 2 specialists I have been to said that physical activity has NOTHING to do with bringing on pancreatic pain. But we all know they are WRONG about that. I love it when a person without pancreatitis can say with certainty what does and doesn't cause problems. Anyway, when I exercise it does bring on the pain. Even just housework can do it. But I was to the point that I was so afraid of being bigger than I am now that I would exercise without regard to the pain or what it was telling me. I just kept doing what I was doing and usually could work through the pain after a while. But I found out it brought on pain in other areas of my life that I didn't always have pain in. So do what you need to do in moderation. I am one of the " lucky " ones who's pancreas problems has not caused weight loss issues. I even stopped my enzyme supplements because I read they cause weight gain. I have decided that even if I am overweight by 20 pounds or so, it's not life threatening to be that skinny and I sure can stand to have the extra weight when that next big attack happens and I lose some from being so sick. I say this with much optimism as I while I do have daily pain, I haven't seen an ER or hospital for 2 years now...and going! :-) Sandy in California Jerry Pople wrote: >Yeah, me too.
