Guest guest
Hi Hope everyone is doing well. We have a new email address. I have missed this group and am glad to be reconnected. I guess I could give you an update on Hannah and our family... She is now 3 1/2 and keeps us all laughing constantly. We are finally getting to hear what has been going on in her head now that she has finally started talking in full sentances. The joke around our house is that She has already developed a total " Napolean " attitude (complete with her own built in alarm system!) In short... if anyone gets near her with the intent to hurt her, she lets out the most horrible blood curdling scream. (Any child that is nearby usually ducks or runs for cover:) She got new glasses late last year and we were just told recently by her eye surgeon that she may need surgery in the next few months on both eyes. She has also had some issues with the recurrent fluid in her ears and may need tubes to resolve that problem. She will be four in 4 months and now weighs 25 1/2 lbs as of last week. She just recently dropped down to 24 1/2 6 months ago but has managed to put it back on. At her vist last week her endo was not happy with her growth velocity stating that her growth velocity had dropped ten standard deviations below the third percentile. She also stated that her body was very assymetrical in that her legs and arms are very significantly shorter than her torso. She was also way off this chart too. ( I think these doctors have a chart for everything) I guess this explains why her 12 month pants still fit just fine in the length! She has just started speech, physical and occupational therapy. Despite all this I feel like she is doing well for the most part. As for our family we are very busy in general with the six kids that live at our house with doctors appts, soccer, sign language classes, boy scouts and swim team practices(we take care of 3 therapeutic foster children as well as the rest of our crew). Braxton, my four 1/2 year old autistic son is doing better. He has just started a new seizure med and is now even talking better. He has also just started Physical, speech, and occupational therapy as well as two of the TFC kids because of their special needs. Braxton is going to start a special therapy called ABA therapy next week and I am really hoping this will help us get the most out of him. Anyway enough of my rambling that is the latest and the greatest. All the kids looked great in their new pictures and congratulations to Hillary and all the rest of you in your newest success!
