,

You may want to check out a video posted on Maysa's blog of a little boy, Cole, getting his DSi. If you go to this link: www.mymaysa.wordpress.com, on the menu on the right, under Videos, click on the one that says Cole's DSi Video.

My daughter who got her first DSi at 9 months didn't like it a bit. We've had two after that and she cried her lungs out at each one of them. The moment the stocking came off, she was fine.

I hope your LO does as well as little Cole.

Leila,

Maysa, 16 months, 7 days till graduation

HelloOur son is going this week for his scan for his DOC band... He is 4.5 months old and will get the band right at 5 months. Any information on what I can expect during the scan would be wonderful. I am worried that he is going to scream with that stocking over his face. I am hoping everything goes smoothly and he is in and out of the band, from poking around here reading posts I guess we are starting at a good age and hopefully hit a few growth spurts. His plagio is at 18mm which I understand is pretty high. He was born with a mild case of tort but always sleeping and laying towards that one side did a number on his poor little head. Thanks in advance!Mark 4.5 months getting band on 6/1

You don't have anything to worry about. Our daughter was just a little under 4 months when we had our scan two weeks ago and we got her band on Friday. The stocking is not constricting at all and the whole process only took about five minutes. I was prepared with a bottle to soothe her just in case she got upset, but she didn't even wimper. The longest part was reviewing the photos to send the best one for the band to be manufactured. Hope that helped.

My son was about 14 weeks when we took him into cranial tech in Paramus for his scan. He was not bothered at all by the stocking. It is very light and see through, so it's almost like having a "net" more than a stocking. He actually fell asleep during the scan.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to get a good scan pic b/c he didn't have he neck muscle support to sit up straight and they had to revert to the casting process. Which he also tolerated well. It surprised me that he was so calm considering he is a very tempermental baby.

The staff at ct are very good at what they do. They will do their best to make the process as untraumatic as possible.

From my experience with the doc band (2 weeks) it is an excellent solution. My son has already shown amazing progress. He was originally at 19mm plagio and I can see the flat spot starting to round out.
