Guest guest
Make sure you make your own nutmilk, and not store bought. I haven't yet found a legal store bought brand. You can get really good quality nutmilk bags from amazon.com and I think they come in sets of 3 or 4. That's where I got mine and I love them. What kinds of things do you guys use nut milk for? I was thinking of trying some, but I don't want to make it and then not know what to do with it!You can drink it - almond milk is yummy - add a little vanilla to it, and of course use it in coffee, but I seem to remember you don't drink coffee, and use it in cooking in place of milk. If you makesome kind of cereal, use it there. In smoothies. etc. It's versatile. And delicious. Mara
Guest guest
Mara, what kind of cereal do you make? You stumped me on that.Is almond milk very easy to digest compared to nut butter. I started over again and am a bit overwhelmed. I thought I was doing good until everything stopped for me (no BMs). Is coffee one of those things that you just try and see if you can tolerate? Other than chocolate malt balls I buy from the coop, I desperately miss my homemade lattes. michelleTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, April 12, 2010 8:35:43 AMSubject: Re: Nut milks (was: Re: Questions on starting the diet- sorry this is so long!) Guest guest
I don't know what Mara does but I make cereal by making a less sweet version of scd cake (w/ almond meal rather than almond flour) and then break it up and dehydrate it until it's dry. It's kind of like having grapenuts. Super tasty! And now I'm craving it but don't have time to cook! Curses! Stacey > > > > > > > >Make sure you make your own nutmilk, and not store bought.
