Guest guest
Jane, Yaaaaayyyy I like to hear stable! I'm so glad you are happy with Dr. Kershaw. It is reassuring to know you have confidence in him. I know how fond you are of Dr. so it's good to hear you are happy with his replacement. Like he said, just keep doing what you're doing! Love ya! Dr. Kershaw is young andI really like him. He could hardly believe that I have been diagnosedsince 1998. When I asked him what he wanted me to do he told me to justkeep doing what I am doing. Exercise is the key. He liked the programthat I am in where I am monitored when I exercise and before & afterexercise. Dr. Kershaw was also an hour and 1/2 early to my appointment.I was finishing up one of the studies yesterday that I am in (I am gladit is over for me) and the study nurse left and let him come in and seeme. Dr. Kershaw also had my records that Dr. had left him and Icould tell from what he told me that he had read them. I had some PFTsand all the numbers were still the same. I walked even faster at the 6MW, too. Dr. Kershaw also told me to make sure I got the H1N1 vaccine. He said that the form of the vaccine in the nasal spray would be finefor me. Pregnant women are the ones who will be getting the vaccine ina shot. The highlight of the day at the Emory Clinic for me was when I saw afriend that I had not seen in 2 or 3 years. the research nurse hadstopped to talk to an RT as we walked down the hall. This RT is the onethat I always want to have to do my tests so I spoke up and asked her ifshe was going to do my tests. She did have a patient in the room withher who also spoke up and said "Jane, do you remember me?" I had tothink a minute and then I realized that this is April who had had adouble lung transplant 2 or 3 years ago. April had been in my exerciseclass. She had lost so much weight that I did not recognize her atfirst. She said that her lung function wasn't good. And she did notlook good to me. I was so glad to see her and I told her to come backto our class.Hope everyone has a good day today. Take care.Toodles!Jane UIP/IPF 12/1998 Dalton, Georgia aka pianolady_musicgirl
