Guest guest
I can only offer one piece of advice don't be freaked out by how little she eats. She has a much smaller stomach and will have to learn to eat small meals. Eventually it all levels out. Remember to always provide a good source of protein at every meal. She will need the protein. > My daughter recently had this surgery performed and as her mom I > would llike to know as much about what to expect and hopefully the > info Ican get from anyone who has the surgery will help me better to > understand what she is going thru. Recovery is hard for a new post-op. She will need to eat mainly soft protein food like soft scrambled egg, tuna salad, soups, popcycles. She will sleep quite a bit at this time and may experience nausea and vomiting. This is only lasts a few weeks, however make sure she always has water or something to drink. During the first month I needed to go to the ER a couple of times for dehydration and get an IV. After 6 weeks or so I felt so much better and at three months I was not only back to 100% but past that. Your daughter has choose to make her life healthy and better with this surgery. Best of luck to both of you.
