Guest guest
Hi Everyone I wonder if someone can help me here. We have a support group in New Zealand for kids with growth issues – actually it's a branch of MAGIC – MAGIC NZ. Anyway a parent has contacted me with the following question and I said I would try and get some info for her asap. Can anyone help me out??? To give you a little context – it is notoriously difficult to access funded GH in New Zealand – so the mother is very concerned that the prescribed tablet could disadvantage her son's case….... I've pasted her email below - he has to start taking the tablet tomorrow NZ time so I need to get back to her later tonight C is going to have another clonidine test etc on Monday. he > had his last one when he was 2 (he is 5 now) and they have decided > to revisit it due to his lack of growth. he only grew 6cm in 16 > months and at 5years old is 94cm. However he has to take a sex > hormone 3 days prior to the test. The paed said this is to put > his <growth> hormone at maximum level. I would of thought that this would > give an inaccurate reading - lets face it C is not going to > have a sex hormone on a regular basis. Does anyone have any info on > this that they can pass on to me as he is due to start taking the > tablet tomorrow. > > > > Thanks PS The name of the tablet is Progynova 1mg Bit concened that by taking this tablet C may not qualify for GHT but if he didn't take it he could.
