Hi Adrienne, I asked group the same question last week & many people said they were going to get both shots. And today i asked both my PCP & Pulmo Dr have suggested i definitely get both the flu shot & H1N1. Today on Cnn & Dr. Oz especially Dr Oz, suggested getting flu shot & that people with chronic diseases from ages 18-65 get the h1n1 flu shot. So, i'm getting flu shot on Monday & H1N1 won't be available til 10/15/09. Hope that helps.

I don't know how to take all this info about the H1N1. It makes me not want to leave the house until next spring. Do you think we definetly need to get the shot? How about the regular flu shot? I'm so confused and concerned.

Recently, I have had an influx of moths in my house. I think they would be considered pantry moths, so I have used all types of sprays and cleaners to try to get rid of them. In the meantime I've noticed that I've been breathing a little harder. Do you think this may have effected my health? Another problem that I anticipate is that in my area (Philadelphia) we have been infested with Stink Bugs. I was told no type of bug spray kills them. You have to use a combination of Ammonia and water and wash down the areas where they come in. In my case they come in through the windows but I don't know how. My concern once again is that I need to use something that can effect my breathing. All of this is too much. I believe it was Jerry that said he is getting tired of doctors and I'm just getting tired overall. I'd appreciate any thoughts or

suggestions.

Thanks group!

Adrienne,

We all understand about feeling tired of doctors. There are times when I feel like life is one long doctors appointment! LOL

But seriously I can't recommend highly enough that you get the regular seasonal flu shot, the H1N1 vaccine and in addition make sure your pneumonia vaccine is up to date. You should have that one every 5 years.

My feeling is that I need to do everything possible to prevent becoming ill and the vaccines are part of that. Heck I'm getting the H1N1 shot and I've already had H1N1. I spent 4 days in the hospital in May with it. But the doctors want me to have the vaccine anyway to increase the chances I'll be immune the next time I'm exposed to it.

So get the shots, eat well, get lots of rest, wash your hands alot and avoid people who are obviously ill. There are no guarantees but we can lower our risk!
