Guest guest
Hi Everyone, is 4 days post-op and it looks like she will be released from the hospital TOMORROW! She is doing very well - was talking up a storm today on the phone; full of stories, what a pleasure talking to her! They are keeping her an extra day in the hospital because she had continued spiking fevers since her surgery, off and on. She was beginning to suspect the heparin they were giving her (lowers ones risk of developing blood clots). I guess fevers are a rare reaction. Dr Pomp gave her permission to stop taking it today so they will see if that helps matters. She has been through two leak tests - drank more than her share of " contrast " but both were passed with flying colors! Her pain level continues to decrease. She will probably only be taking Tylenol by tomorrow. She is looking forward to going home as the nurse in her says " hospitals are a place to work, not sleep " and hence she has not been sleeping very well. Let's wish her well that the fevers stop and she gets out tomorrow and can spend Columbus Day in her own bed! Thank you all for your prayers and support. has been going through this alone and all the positive vibes are making a difference.
