Guest guest
I heard they are coming out with a new product to help boost the immune system! I have a friend who sells it all or something to that effect. Never tried it tho. > > > From: Patti <napa73 (AT) comcast (DOT) net> > Subject: Re: Re: new to the group > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Wednesday, December 2, 2009, 12:48 PM > > >  > > > Being new to this IPF diagnosis I am wondering how many of you handle certain conditions: >  > ---do you avoid the cold weather? >  > ---do you avoid sick people (hard for me as I have 3 little grandsons and they always have something)? >  > ---do you take cough medication every day to help with the cough and does it help? >  > ---does exercise seem to help? >  > ---anyone have any luck with herbs, tea or vitamins? >  > > Patti, 59, Indianapolis, IPF 2007 >

Guest guest
Do be sure to let us know what the Dr. says on the next visit. Or you can skype me. I finally got my mic fixed today. Had a nice but brief visit with Jane. I keep heading for the bedroom to call it a day. I'm having a lot of back pain today. Later. MamaSher; IPF 2006; Cellular NSIP, PH, 2009, OR,.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Yep, I'm somewhat Gobsmacked about the latest developments for me. I've been thinking back to my childhood a lot, since this is a congenital condition. I remember stuff that now I wonder if they were part of the Heart problem. I wish I could ask my parents but they're not here any more. My Dad had a Congenital Heart Condition of some sort but never said exactly WHAT..just that nothing could be done about it! I DO remember people always commenting on how Pale I was & my Mum always pinching my cheeks before we went to see relatives.....the Nuns at my school made me come to the Convent Kitchen to drink a Double Dose of Free School Milk everyday (YUK I Hated that... the Flavoured Milk was always finished by then & I had to drink a Bottle of Plain Warmish Milk.....strangely I still love Milk inspite of that...but Icy Cold) AS an Adult I've always worn Rouge & Lipstick 'cos people STILL comment on it if I don't! Then there was the hilarious way I'd dive off the Starting Blocks in Swimming Carnivals...Keen as Mustard......be right out front in the Race for about a dozen Strokes & then just Stop...OUT OF OOMPH. Same with Running... I could Never catch kids playing Chasies unless I was really sneaky & do Double Backs & go around behind where they'd run! No one ever thought to check that something may've been wrong! Thanks goodness really ... the Heart Surgery then would've been horrendous! Now it seems it may well be too late to fix the problem for me too, since I've started a Right to Left Shunt, which means I've developed PH......shutting the Hole will just cause faster PH deterioration in the Right Ventricle, from what Dr Kim told me. The Hole acts as a pressure Valve. Unfortunately it means that I face rather high risks of developing all sorts of other problems related to the 'Dirty, de-oxygenated' Blood mixing with the clean/oxygenated stuff & circulating freely around my whole body. I'll find out for sure on Monday 8th Feb when I go up to see both the Lung & Heart Specialists in Brisbane. I HATE waiting!
