Guest guest
Hello,I have read the GAPS book, so I know a little bit about the differences. The first thing is that even with SCD, nut flours are not recommended until much later when things have settled a bit and progress has been made. I would stop the nuts and see if the egg still bothers him. Of course, stop the eggs if they do. The super hunger comes from shifting from a fermentation type digestion to a proper human enzyme based digestion. Return to the intro and build foods up again until his stomach settles again, would be my suggestion. It is difficult, but going really slowly is best especially with kids. There is a group similar to this one at Pecan Bread. Go to this page http://www.pecanbread.com/p/local1.html and in the middle there is a place to enter your email address to join their group. You will get really good, ASD specific answers there.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Wed, May 12, 2010 5:48:23 PMSubject: what am I doing wrong? I have started my ASD son on the gaps diet about 3 weeks ago and we are now on stage 2-3.when we started the diet he was so hungry for about 2 weeks and now he is back to eating small amounts. my guess is hat the yeast is gone. i think. however he is still very bloated, lots of gas and complains that is stomach hurts. I introduced almonds ( almond cookies) and eggs ( mostly yolks) since he has a sensitivity to egg whites. ( however whites do sneak into his foods when I am seperating the two ). any ideas? especially with the bloating. He has such an extended belly.I hate to take the almonds away ( he finally had a cookie in 3 weeks) or do I eliminate the eggs. If so any ideas on a SCD legal replacement when making legal recipes on pecan bread. HELP.
