Guest guest
Hi Dave, I'm also a patient of Dr. Glassberg in Miami. I have been dx with IPF, but when I applied for a drug trial the qualifying doctor said that I didn't have IPF. So, Dr. Glassberg has ordered a biopsy. I have it tomorrow, Friday the 23rd. The surgeon she recommended is Dr. Nguyen. He seems like a good doctor to deal with. He has been very approachable and answered all of my questions so far. I should have some info by Monday as to my experience at U of M. Terre, IPF, 6-08 > > > > > > Hi, this is my first post. I am a 43 year old Male in Miami, FL. Guest guest
Dave, Just wanted to acknowledge your post. You've already gotten good information. I had a VATS that did not go well due to my own poor tolerance for sedation and anesthesia. I ended up with an open lung biopsy and on a ventilator for a couple of days. BUT I was much more ill at the time than you are now. Ultimately I did fine post-op, it just took me a few days to get there. I also got good information from the biopsy that has served me well. If I had it to do over again, I would. Others feel differently. It's a personal subjective decision. You are in the hands of excellent doctors and you are in relatively good health with lots of lung function. My guess is that you will do well .. Please keep us posted, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
