Guest guest
I'm day 8 SCD today. I can't believe how much better my body already feels. And this group is most helpful. I've been reading like crazy. From the ribs down, I feel almost like a new person :-) ... but wow, I'm so foggy and exhausted. I can't concentrate or retain a thing. I came home from work today to rest. (Thank you, understanding boss.) I expected these symptoms. Yesterday, I felt pretty good, but today, i woke up exhausted. Anyway, I'm drinking lots of water and taking it easy overall, even while at work. Is there anything else I can do to ease the symptoms? I've had tinitus for 4 years and yesterday, for the first time, my ears were not ringing. Today they are screaming at me again, almost as loud as my body is screaming at me for sugar and carbs. I just couldn't take the fatigue and fog today and get a day of work done. Crazy bizarre nightmares, too. Did anyone else have that in the first days? I realize this sounds dramatic, but I really, this is infinitely better than before SCD. I'm so hopeful and feel that this is right for me, and I can tolerate this for a while. Keeping in mind that everyone is different, how long do you think the exhaustion and particularly, the fog, will last? I have finals coming up soon and need to be able to think. Thanks! Is it not ok to eat fruit? I haven't had D since day 2. It is acceptable to eat fruit, so long as it hasn't had any illegals added. However, some people (like me!) take a great deal of healing in order to be able to tolerate more than small amounts of fruit. It's a very individual thing as to how much of what each of us tolerates. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Hi Gwen, I should’ve been clearer when I wrote since I am following both an anti-candida and SCD diet. The anti-candida diet (in the beginning) does not allow fruit since the sugars from the fruit feed the yeast. If you do not think that yeast is an issue for you and you are doing well with some fruit then perhaps you should stay the course. The bottom line is that you must listen to your body. I hope you feel better soon! Lori
