Guest guest
Good luck with Sacred Heart. When I worked at a hospital about 80 miles away from there we called it " Sacred Wallet " . If you have a way to show you are low income then you may have a good chance for some relief. Otherwise many folk go to Spain and have Dr Baltasar do their DS for about 12k including hospital and physician services. You cannot generally get a hospital to make you pay only what the insurance will pay. They do that on a contract with the insurance and seemingly have the right to charge private pay folks the whole cost. , Seattle > Lurked since late January. Coming out of the bushes now. Have posted elsewhere, not on this site- Surgery is scheduled for November27 with Welker at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. One month from today(31 days away) I will be DSafied. I am a selfpay and would like to trade info on costs- hospital, anesthesia, and surgeon.Next week I am going to the hospial to attempt to negotiate and make it very clear that I do not want any services that are not important to the sugery. Has anyone done this? I would like coaching. Also would anyone share the difference between the billed amount and the amount the insurance companies really paid. Guest guest
You would want to have a local provider to take care of you in case of post op problems. I had Dr Welker do my surgery and all of my post op care has been with my local PCP. If I have any surgery related problems, Dr Welker would consult with my PCP or see me for that. Would your insurance here cover it? That depends on how their exclusions are written. My daughter had Dr B in Spain and sees her local PCP. Her insurance specifically excludes any surgery to promote weight loss. But all her tests are done and the doc codes them so that the insurance pays. , Seattle > If one reaches this point and opts to go to Spain for the > procedure, what kind of post-op care might one expect?
