Guest guest
How about no milk, or limited amounts and use foods and Ca fortified juices to get the calcium. Also, chewable calcium tablets. Janelle
Guest guest
What function does the milk serve in his diet? Does he eat something like cold cereal that usually requires a milk substitute, or is is just a juice-alternative beverage that you need? Cow's milk provides liquid, protein, calcium, and maybe vitamins A and D..if it is any of these needs that keeps you looking for milk substitutes, well you can satisfy them from non-milks. Protein comes from meats, fish, eggs, nuts, beans, seeds. Liquid? there is always wonderful water, and juices, and herbal teas, etc. (We have used zero-calorie non-sweetened carbonated water for years. My kids call it " bubbly water. " ) Calcium is in sesame seeds and other foods. It might help, to think outside the box. (Inside the box, we use fat-free vanilla rice milk, Darifree, and almond milk.)
