Guest guest
Janelle, I wouldn't want to be the one to advise in the wrong way. I just want you to know that we are here to read your post if you need us to listen. I seem to be one who over worries also, and feel so silly afterwards, but I always say what if................ Anyway, keep us posted on . [[[[[[[[[[[[]]]]]]]]]]] Thats a hug for him. Guest guest
I would insist on seeing a pediatric neuroligst pronto! I haven't been following all of your posts, but if you've already done this, call him/her again and describe what's been happening. Do not let your pediatrician talk you out of insisting on a referral to a neurologist for your son. I would do this ASAP if you've already experienced a seizure with him. Good luck. We were ready to go to the ER, but > thought, what would they do? After a half hour or so, he calmed down > and drifted off to a very restless sleep. Couldn't get comfortable on > my shoulder. This sounds exactly like me when I eat something I should not have eaten. For me primarily something high phenol http://home.pacbell.net/cscomp/phenol.htm I will be sooooooo tired but unable to fall asleep. I will wake up every 20-30 minutes, generally cursing the fact that I ate whatever it was that I ate. I will take drugs [like anti-histamines] but still not be able to fall asleep. I will be so limp each time, and sometimes cry, because I am exhausted but cannot fall asleep and keep waking up. My eyes will stay closed because I am soooooo tired. This does go on for about 2-3 hours, then I do have a restless sleep. We decided to wait and call pedi tomorrow. Although his > reg. pedi is on vacation for 2 weeks. Darn. We started to feel silly. > What if he just has gas or is teething? We are almost 100% sure > something happened 10 days ago when we suspected a seizure. But, > maybe tonight he was just very , very tired-he did miss his afternoon > nap(just like last time when we suspected a seizure occurred), but he > has missed naps before and not woke crying and been less responsive. > I don't remember my first born ever feeling so limp and crying but > not very responsive. I don't remember too much of your previous description about the " incident " , but it did sound like a seizure to me. I have seizures also, which have never been controlled by medications but they are much better when gf and low phenol. But I think if YOU believe it was probably a seizure, and YOU are concerned about this last night, then YOU know your child best. Take him to the ped and request testing by a pediatric neurologist. You are NOT silly for being concerned about your child. Dana
