Guest guest
You can buy keto-sticks at the drugstore where they have the supplies for diabetics. I think that everyone should check for ketones in their babies from time to time. It's so easy to do and ensures that the child has/has not ketones. Why check? What does it mean? Our RSS/SGA children do not store glucose and some of them are literally missing a layer of fat. The body needs this fat to store energy, mainly for the brain. If there is not enough, then the brain starts burning muscle to get what it needs. It will take what it needs at all costs. When a child spills ketones, it means the brain is burning that muscle for energy. I hope this is understandable. It's very basic.
